Introduction
Amendoeira Golf Resort is located in the district of Silves, only 35 minutes from Faro airport. Silves is a region steeped in history. Occupied by the Romans, and later the Moors, Silves became a prosperous town, rivaling Lisbon as a centre of culture.

Many fascinating remains attest to this rich heritage, including the Sé Veha (Old Cathedral) completed in the 15th century, the 4/5th century castle and parts of the old city wall. Today Silves is a thriving town with many bars and restaurants serving traditional local cuisine.

Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, Amendoeira has the magnificent backdrop of the Monchique Mountains, from rolling hills to verdant valleys of almond, olive and carob trees, and its home to an abundance of flora and fauna, including more than fifty species of birds. The aim is to protect the area's existing habitats, thus encouraging the proliferation of wildlife.

This resort benefits from The Faldo Course
Designed by Nick Faldo, with strategic play in mind, this course demands careful positioning to score well; rocky outcrops, meandering watercourses and views to the distant mountains and orange groves define its essential character.

The O'Connor Jnr. Course
Perfectly complementing the Faldo Course whilst taking advantage of the rich valley soil in contrast to the arid hillside, this course offers no less of a challenge. Large areas of water demand accurate play and creative shot making and these lakes and streams are to be maintained as a wildlife sanctuary.
